The Opportunist

The Opportunist

I felt my heart racing
As I stood outside
Your interest and trust

I felt of sense of  panic
That my voice would falter
The words forever screaming
Inside of me since you silenced them
Many missed opportunities ago

Not unlike any other day
I suddenly found myself
Within my desperate search
For the chance or a way
To let these words have their say
And express the sentiments you had
Implored me to keep to myself

They are sincere after all
As am I my love
When saying to you,

I love you

But is it wise of me to say,
Or foolish of me to claim otherwise?

Either, or
Wise or otherwise
I love you
Still.
