A Desert Sunset
by Stephen Petluk
I marvel at a world transformed
golden
Coated in Stardust,
by a setting Sun
over mirage's swimming
glowing,
Shimmering with heat
A dying days dream, quivering,
Above drifting sand dunes
standing
in a shadow
Of a woman's silhouette
Framed in a fiery red disk
Touching Earth
She comes to me down a dune
a dream
of swaying fluid motion
A being of light transformed
perfect, golden
warm, alive, yet immutable
I reach out and touch her face
my burning hand soothed
at a setting sun leaving
twilight
We share a soft gentle kiss
My broken lips healed
rejoicing in magic
a time between times
Her gold limbs
wrapping around my bronze
entwining
pulsing
Transporting us beyond place
Where we join without surrender
Two bodies sharing one mind
Floating suspended in a golden aether of joy
We are each and yet not other,
consumed and consummated within
Wet and white hot churning seas surging,
flowing, burning while
Drowning in a crucible
of red golden radiant liquid metal
Bronze moving in gold within bronze
A perpetual motion
Punctuated by throbbing
Thrusting, Spurting eternal rhythm
Matched by endless Grasping need,
compressing infinite power into nothingness
Begging for release
Before exploding
an endless knot unwound
A superstring uncoiled
Dimensions unknitted
Spilling oceans into clutching infinity
Creating worlds
upon motes of stardust.
