A Place

When charming winds ran out of breath

By instigating beauty’s flight

And daylight learned its destiny

Had settled for an eerie night

A darkling haze of hurried time

Imposed with gentle increments

Had rushed along indignant paths

As knowing ways love circumvents

For kindness and sincerity

Are favored concepts of the mind

And rarely will they land a heart

They’ll treasure as a worthy find

Amidst a tale of pensive sighs

I trace the warmth of yesterday

Where empty dreams pretend to wake

While Mischief dies in idle play
