Fade to Shade
I fade as all forgotten light
And blink a sleepy moon
Then disappoint your desert sands
Denying my monsoon
I've self imposed abandonment
Of ships before they sail
To race with crazy trains of thought
Though knowing they'll derail
I've barricaded deep inside
The memories I once lost
And cover up undying love
With apathetic frost
Then bottle up your bitter wine
Which sour grapes expound
And leave my severed vine of hope
To wither on the ground.
