Meter Reader

Meter Reader

When we called Bi Jou Jou
He was no where to be found
And the Cosmic Catacombs
Were shifting underground

Cobalt mist surrounded us
Since I was feeling blue
My Baby Beans said that was the sign of
‘Cynical review’

As we heard a rhythm counted,
We became encased
In a structured regiment
Where timing was debased

The voice of subjugation claimed,
‘The catacombs are mine,
I'm the Meter Reader
And your verses I’ll confine

Always write your Poetry
To be mimic all the rest
And your rhythm should not beat
A tick against my test,

 I demand this rigidness
In order to restrict
Poems that are contrary
To rhythms I depict’

We looked for a dream out
But only found my closet door
My piece of mind that I have locked
With nothing to explore

Please Bi Jou Jou, find us soon
And get us out of here
Lonely fills with emptiness
When rhymes are laced with fear

And if you see Bi Jou Jou
Would you send him back me?
Because my Baby Beans and I
Despise watching T.V.
