Mind Steps
To seize my opportunity
For some creative change
I'll close one door then open up
Another close in range
Enthrallment’s my vitality
Instead of validation
Because such confirmations
Disappoint and reap frustration
Perception will empower me;
And 'what if?' is a must
To step through my Poetic door,
And find my cosmic dust
This metaphor I utilized
Creatively to find
Enchanted thoughts encircling
My Pollyester mind
I'm greeted by Bi Jou Jou,
Who insists he tags along
While whistling out of tune
To my Pollyester song
And soon come upon a pigeon
Who spells words instead of sings
And also changes colors
Wvery time it flaps its wings
Bi Jou Jou says my Tiger-wit
Again was being rude
And asks if I would laugh at him
To 'funny up' his mood
Again Bi Jou Jou? 'Yes' he says,
'Again with his disdain'
Then suggests a sideways glance
That conjures up my rain
These slanted drops make my tiger-wit
Walk backwards for a day
I laugh ‘cause he looks silly
In the most delightful way
He asks me rather rudely
As to why I’ve made him walk
Backwards for a day,
And I am shocked to hear him talk
Who taught you how to verbalize?
He answers with a yawn
I ask him to be nice,
And then tell him to be gone
I hear Bi Jou Jou laughing
As my tiger walks away
Before I tell the rain to stop,
Until some other day
Three dragonflies appear to me,
One yellow and one green
The third one is a color
That I know I’ve never seen
That's when I hear a buzzing,
And Bi Jou Jou say, 'No fun'
He knows daydreams are over
when there's laundry to be done
