Ruthless Pretensions
I disregard what ruthless steps
Fall in haste
Unto a distancing of silence
As well as lasting impressions
Rushing along
Love’s beautiful approach,
Just to struggle onward
With absurd an effort
As simply in knowing
When to pull away from within
Is a must
If ever should hope to honestly express
With even a vague trace of thought
Or perhaps as the abstract past sense
Of a true emotion
For regardless if what gain
‘Tis only as understanding,
Of how profound
Such a self-realization
Just may or may not be
when essentially,
Of any such validity
Unto recognition,
‘Tis mere a portrayal
As introversion
Yielding not,
To the consummation
Of self-modification.
