Time
by Adrian Giannini
As I feel the darkness closing in
The sun holds no more warmth
I can feel there breath upon my soul
I know their there waiting their chance
The last of the lights warriors
Withdraw to the safety of the upcoming dawn
I am left once again
To fend for my sanity
The whispers increase in intensity
The cacophony is becoming deafening
Their howls colour the darkness black
As I prepare myself once again
Then I see them
Dancing in my peripheral vision
Obscured from my view
But I know their there
I hear the scamper on the earth
Their scrapping on the walls
Give away their place
A shadow on the wall
A glance to the place
Where once has been
A blur in my sub-conscience
But I know and I prepare
Where is the one they call god
Abandoning me
In my time of need
Other gods
Of mans imagination
Desert me now
Then I am alone
